Libya: Gaddafi and Senussi’s trial adjourned
Saif al-Islam, the son of the former Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi, appeared again last Sunday before a Tripoli court, via a video link from the city of Zintan, south-west of the capital city.
His trial, expected to be held with 34 other top officials of Gaddafi’s regime, including its former chief of intelligence Abdullah al-Senussi who is also facing charges at the International Criminal Court (ICC), was adjourned until August. At the hearing, according to the local newspaper Libya Herald, neither al-Senussi nor Gaddafi were represented by defence attorneys.
